St. Cloud State University graduated more than 890 students during fall semester 2014. Commencement ceremonies took place Sunday, December 21, 2014.

The Dean’s List honors students who achieve an outstanding scholastic record during a semester with a grade point average of 3.6 or greater.

Jordan Segelstrom has been awarded a scholarship to The College of St. Scholastica in Duluth. Segelstrom, of North Branch, plans to enroll in Fall 2015 and major in Pre-Med. Segelstrom was awarded the Benedictine Scholarship. The Benedictine Scholarship is available to all new St. Scholastica applicants and is based on merit.

Alysha Newsom of Stanchfield participated in a J-Term study tour to Nicaragua with Carthage College. “Biology and Geography of Nicaragua” focused on how physical geographic factors and human intervention have affected the flora and fauna of the world’s largest freshwater tropical island. The tour included a trip to the island of Ometepe in Lake Nicaragua. Students were required to engage in significant research about the varied landscape and history of Nicaragua before leaving the campus.
