Isanti County says thanks to three officers
Isanti County Chief Deputy Bill Guenther, Deputy Sean Connolly, Sergeant Jackie Johnson, Deputy Chad Meyer and Sheriff Russ Monson.

ISANTI COUNTY— Three officers in particular have made the Isanti Sheriff’s Office proud.

On Thursday, Jan. 21, Sheriff Russ Monson presented a Life Saving Citation to Deputy Sean Connolly, a Wounded on Duty Citation to Deputy Chad Meyer and an Honorable Service Citation to Sergeant Jackie Johnson.

Deputy Connolly

On March 4, 2009 at 03:09 a.m., Deputy Connolly responded to an ambulance call at 2155 Sixth Lane SE, Apt. 10 in Cambridge.

Upon arrival Connolly found an 85-year-old man not breathing and had no pulse. Connolly started CPR and after a few compressions the male party regained consciousness. He was alert and talking in the ambulance on the way to the hospital.

Connolly was awarded the Life Saving Citation for saving this man’s life.

Deputy Meyer

On Dec. 13, 2008, Deputy Meyer was assisting at a crash and just finishing up when he was struck by a motor vehicle. Meyer was severely injured and his return to work as a deputy sheriff was in question.

Meyer, through his hard work and positive attitude and strong desire to serve his community, returned to work as a deputy sheriff with no limitations on July 31, 2009

Meyer was being awarded the Wounded on Duty Citation.

Sergeant Johnson

For well over a year Sergeant Johnson has taken on three positions in the Isanti County Jail.

Due to budget cuts we were not able to fill her former position— the jail coordinator— so she does that job, is a day shift supervisor and the assistant jail administrator.

If there is something that needs doing, Johnson gets it done.

Due to her outstanding performance every day and always going above and beyond the duties assigned, Johnson wass being awarded the Honorable Service Citation.
