An outdoor concert and barbecue dinner with Cody James will be offered on Saturday, Aug. 24, from 4-7 p.m. at River Valley Christian Church, 37126 Highway 65 NE, Stanchfield, just north of Grandy.

The outdoor event includes a barbecue dinner at 4 p.m., concert beginning at 5 p.m. Attendees should consider bringing lawn chairs or blankets.

Cody James is an evangelist and Nashville recording artist who tours nationally at concert venues, churches, prisons, and recovery events. He has been a professional musician and accomplished songwriter for 20 years in rock, country and movies, performing with artists from Seventh Day Slumber to Loretta Lynn. He now makes his home in Minnesota.

His music focuses on his testimony, on Jesus delivering him from years of addiction, fear and depression. His repertoire comprises new songs which allow him to share his message of hope with hurting and lost people.

An admission charge of $10 includes the meal and concert, but the event is free for combat veterans and their immediate families.

Proceeds from the event will support Reboot Combat Recovery, a trauma recovery course, which will begin on Sept. 10  at River Valley Christian Church.
