Enjoy the season at North Branch festival

Santa waves through the falling snow in last year’s Christmas parade in North Branch.

The North Branch Beautification Association will hold a Christmas Lighting Festival on Saturday, Dec. 7, with most events from 3:30-8 p.m. in Central Park along Highway 95.

A parade will run from 5-6 p.m. on Elm Street, starting at Grand Avenue and heading west to the park. At 6:30 p.m. a tree lighting ceremony will take place in the park with a visit from Santa.

Other activities include a live Nativity scene, Christmas shopping market, food trucks and hot beverages, festive hayride, live entertainment and carolers, photos with Santa, holiday games, bonfire and s’mores. Free cake will be provided by County Market.

Donations for Anonymous Santa can be dropped off in the park as well.

At 6 p.m. the winner of the Chamber of Commerce’s “Business Decoration Award” will be announced. At 6:15 p.m. the “Best in Show Parade Award” will be presented.

Guests will also be able to purchase a limited edition North Branch Christmas Fest ornament, with sales supporting the continuation of the Christmas Fest. Supplies are limited to the first 250 ornaments.
