A 20-year-old Isanti man was pronounced dead at the scene of a single-vehicle crash in Anoka County that occurred on Saturday, Oct. 19.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol’s incident report, Reiley Patrick Hoopman, of Isanti, was traveling northbound on Highway 65 near Viking Boulevard at about 9:06 a.m. on Oct. 19 when his 2017 Chrysler 300 left the roadway, struck a sign and then a semaphore.

When emergency personnel arrived on the scene, Hoopman was declared dead upon arrival. 

According to the report, the road conditions were dry. Hoopman was wearing a seatbelt, and the car’s airbag was deployed. It is still unknown if alcohol was involved.

The incident is still under investigation by the Minnesota State Patrol, Midwest Medical Examiners Office and the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office.
