North Branch online farmers market now accepts SNAP/EBT

North Circle Online Farmers Market is now accepting SNAP/EBT at Sprouted Branch in North Branch, one its 11 pickup locations.

North Circle, a program of Women’s Environmental Institute (WEI), allows area residents to order fresh produce, eggs, meat and other products online from over 24 local farmers every week and pick up their orders at locations throughout East Central Minnesota.

Buyers that use SNAP/EBT can now submit their food order online, request offline payment terms, and select Sprouted Branch (38811 Forest Blvd., North Branch) as their pickup location. When the buyer picks up their order at Sprouted Branch, they simply pay with their SNAP/EBT card in person.

“I really like having this convenient option to buy fresh, healthy foods for my family of seven,” said North Circle customer Katie M., who utilized SNAP/EBT. “A lot of these farmers are my neighbors, and it’s really amazing to be able to support them, order their products, and pay in person through North Circle.”

North Circle is open to everyone. Orders can be placed by clicking “Shop Now” at Orders are accepted Sunday at 6 p.m. through Wednesday at 4 p.m. North Circle orders are available for pickup after 2 p.m. on Friday at select locations. The customer selects the pickup location.

Chisago County Statewide Health Improvement Partnership (SHIP) has been working with WEI for over five years to expand access to locally grown, healthy foods. Working with WEI, SHIP helped identify a gap in use of farmers markets in the region and piloted this online platform to meet the changing needs of the region’s population.
