Dwight R. Oman, age 78, of Cambridge, passed away on July 20, 2019, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital after a 1½-year battle with cancer.
Dwight was born on June 24, 1941, to Archie and Ann Oman in Braham, Minn. He graduated from Cambridge High School in 1960. He was drafted into the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam. He returned home and started working as a truck driver for Land O Lakes and Olson & Son Excavating in Cambridge, Minn.
Dwight was an avid classic car enthusiast. He loved his ’40s and ’50s Fords.
He was preceded in death by his parents Archie and Ann, step-daughter Cindy Edstrom.
Dwight is survived by his wife of 24 years, Vonnie; son Mike (Kristen) Scheiber and their children Jessica and Jackson; step-children Randy Elmstrand, Brad (Joni) Elmstrand, Laurie Elmstrand, step-son-in-law Mike Edstrom; step-grandchildren Ryan (Jennie) Edstrom, Garret (Danielle) Edstrom, Justin (Jim) Llanas and Barry Elmstrand and four step-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by many special family and friends.
Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, 2019, at Cambridge Lutheran Church, 621 Old North Main St., Cambridge, with visitation one hour prior to service at the church on Wednesday. Interment in Cambridge Lutheran Cemetery.
