Kathryn 'Kitty' E. Haas

Kathryn (Kitty) Ellen Haas, age 76, of Isanti, passed away peacefully at her home on April 15, 2019, surrounded by her family.

Kathryn (Kitty) Ellen Haas was born Aug. 10, 1942, in Fall River, Massachusetts, to Michael and Myrtle (Weberg) Kiteck. She was raised in St. Paul, Minn., and graduated from Harding High School. Kathryn married Kenneth Haas on April 17, 1965, and they made their home in St. Paul. During this time Kathryn worked for the State of Minnesota. In 1974 Ken and Kitty moved to Cambridge. They made their home in a log cabin on a lake on a wooded, dead-end road. This is where the couple raised their two children and had what Kathryn remembered as the best time of her life. She cherished her simple life – gardening, baking bread, and watching her kids grow. In 1992 they moved to Isanti where they started their own business and became self-employed until her retirement. In recent years, Grandma Kitty has been a loving grandmother and caregiver to her grandchildren. She looked forward to summer days, barbecues and trips to Lake Superior with her kids and grandkids.

Kathryn lived her life with a quiet generosity. She treated people with kindness and without judgment.  Those that knew her know that she gave of herself to anyone in need without ever the notion of getting anything in return. The world was a better place with her in it.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth, on March 23, 2004. She is survived by her two children, David Haas of Cambridge, Jennifer (Dylan) Jenniges of Isanti; grandchildren Mesa, Clara, Ruby and David; two brothers, Michael Kiteck and Larry Kiteck, both of St. Paul; brother-in-law Don (Vicky) Haas of Isanti; and by many other in-laws, relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, 2019, at Strike Life Tributes – ISANTI with visitation one hour prior to the service. Online condolences can be made at StrikeLifeTributes.com.
