The Bombers raised their record to 2-0 with an easy 49-6 win over the Chisholm Bluestreaks on Friday, Sept. 6.
Braham controlled the entire game, scoring all 49 of their points before Chisholm could break the shutout with just three minutes remaining in the game.
Luke Bendickson had only nine carries on the day, but made the most of them by gaining 103 yards and three touchdowns, with one of them a 70-yard punt return. Hayden Lee had 11 carries for 84 yards and a touchdown on the ground, plus threw for 80 yards and two touchdowns.
The young Bombers’ struggles continued as they fell to Onamia 3-1 in their only action of the week on Thursday, Sept. 5. After falling 25-16 in the first set, Braham rallied to win the second set 25-21. Braham had a chance to take control of the match, but wound up falling in the third set 27-25. Onamia would put away Braham with a 25-12 fourth set win.
The Bombers traveled to Pine City on Thursday, Sept. 5, and unlike many meets where they run as individuals rather than as a full team, Braham fielded enough varsity competitors to record team scores in both races.
For the girls, who finished seventh out of eight teams, Leah Wickeham was the top finisher, coming in 41st.
On the boys side, Braham finished 10th out of 10 teams. Kevin Laman was the top finisher for the Bombers, coming in 48th.
