Each year the North Branch Area Chamber of Commerce honors two students from the current graduating class of North Branch High School with a scholarship. The chamber is happy to announce the 2015 scholarships winners: William Young, son of Bill and Michelle Young; and Katie Peterson, daughter of Dan and Barb Peterson.

William will be attending Hamline University with accounting as his major. He has been involved with high school football, skiing and tae kwon do, as well as pep band and teen ministries.

Katie will be attending Anoka Ramsey Community College. She is currently employed at North Branch Veterinary Hospital and Perkins in North Branch.

Governor Mark Dayton announced the appointment of David Curtis, of Braham, to the Board of Electricity, rural electrical supplier. Curtis’ term is effective June 8 and expires Dec. 31, 2017.   

Kassi Davidson, of Center City, was inducted into Sigma Tau Delta English honor society at William Woods University during the 2014-15 academic year. Sigma Tau Delta is an international English honors society with chapters in over 30 countries.
