About the Star

The Isanti-Chisago County Star covers news from Cambridge, Isanti, North Branch, Braham, and surrounding areas. The Star has been part of the area since 1915, with the original publications being written in Swedish. Over the years, the name has changed from "The North Star," to "The Cambridge Star," to its current "Isanti-Chisago County Star." We are published each Thursday, being printed in the same building as our offices are located in Cambridge. The Star is a free-distribution newspaper that is delivered to the doorsteps of over 9,000 area households, with additional copies being available at a variety of area newsstands.

The Star is owned by Gene Johnson of White Bear Lake, and is part of a group of newspapers under the umbrella of Northstar Media, Inc. Other community newspapers in this group include The Kanabec Times, The Pine City Pioneer, The Hinckley News, The Moose Lake Star Gazette, The Askov American, The Pine County Courier, and The Braham Journal.

We here at the Star strive to be "Your Best Source for Community Information."
